about

The fourth solo album from Divine Weeks frontman Bill See is something of a think piece on post-9/11 America. Initially released in 2004 and written in the long shadow of the Patriot Act, Guantanamo Bay and the build up to the Iraqi War, there are some incendiary moments of indictment of the Bush Administration. However, the record is really is a lament for the romantic altruistic soul of America to be preserved - something that has become a very timely present concern in a Trump run America today. This newly reissued version includes a very personal demo of a song written for a friend who changed dramatically after 9/11 but the song didn't make the cut. (The music ended up being used on the Hillflower Grace record but rewritten as "Calliope").
